Our Decorative Surfboard Art is designed using stains and acrylic paints. Paints are applied by airbrushing, a technique used on most real surfboards today.
After your Decorative Surfboard Art is painted or stained, we use a high quality Epoxy finish, like the finishes of professional bartops, to give our Decorative Surfboards a beautiful glass like glossy finish. Our Epoxy finishes are equivalent to 60 coats of regular spar urethane and contains a special UV protectant that retards it from yellowing, so your Surf Art will look awesome inside or outside. We are the only company that offers this professional finish with the UV protectant and at no additional cost to you. Decorative Surfboards covered with Epoxy finishes without this added UV protectant will yellow over time. Beware of cheap epoxy finishes. Also, the backs of all surfboards are coated with several layers of spar urethane (also containing UV protection and weather guard) to seal the board completely from the elements. This is very important if the surfboard is to be hung outdoors.
All decorative surfboard art is made from Eco-Friendly Select Pine. We hand pick each piece so you get a high quality decorative surfboard. Each TSO Decorative Surfboard is hand cut by us, not mass produced. Small knots or imperfections in the wood are normal and add to our natural old school feel. A sawtooth hanger is included with each board, not installed, this way you can decide which way your surfboard will hang.
Surfboard Art is made to order unless noted otherwise. Surfboard production runs approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Rush service is available, e-mail for information. Orders can only be cancelled with a emailed request the same day of order placement and carry 5% cancelation fee.
