About Our Epoxy Clear Coat!
We use a high quality Epoxy finish like the finishes you will find on bar-tops and real wooden surfboards, to give our Decorative Surfboards a beautiful glossy finish. We coat both the front and back of our surfboards to give a good seal and protection from the elements. Our Epoxy finishes are equivalent to 60 coats of regular spar urethane and contains a special UV protectant that retards the yellowing process, so your Surf Art will look awesome inside or outside. We are the only company that offers this professional finish with the UV protectant and at no additional cost to you. This UV protectant slows the yellowing, that occurs in all epoxy finishes, and keeps colors and stains vibrant. Surfboards that are hung in direct sunlight can yellow faster then those hung in shady areas. Surfboards hung indoors or outdoors away from "direct" sunlight will almost never yellow. Decorative Surfboards covered with Epoxy finishes without this added UV protectant will yellow very, very quickly, especially if hung outdoors. Small waves and Epoxy pits are normal but in no way affect the appearance of our surfboards.
